positive project #3 being homeless

As you watch this remember that I was lucky. Our whole family was truely blessed. We had a place to sleep every night when we very easily could have been on the streets. You learn manners and to keep your mouth shut really quick even through injustice when you are faced with sleeping in the snow and the rain. I was never raped or was put in a position to sell myself. I hardly ever had to go hungry. I didn't have to worry about where I would take a shower or go to the bathroom. I got to do homework and educate myself. I even had heat in the winter and toletries to clean myself with. It's amazing the things we take for granted.

The lesson here is that not everyone who is homeless is lazy or a drug addict and even if they were so what. No one should have to live like that. I've even heard some Christians claim that they will not support homeless shelters or food banks because if a person is poor it's some kind of wrath that they deserve from God. That also is a complete and utter fallacy and if you hear someone who claims this please I implore you to straighten them out by maybe smacking the holy spirit into them. Just see if they give you their other cheek and if they don't then don't bother..lol. That is my take on stupid christians but then I'm no better a person am I?

Sometimes life just catches up to you, especially when you have 4 kids and one on the way with a huge medical debt and a landlord who wants to sell the house and you can't afford it but no one wants to take in a family of seven because they want their home in tact.

Everyone is lucky in some way. I learned I was blessed above all else because I was so loved by my family. We stuck together because we depended on each other. It was actually an amazing time.
