Aariz Atif is a one year old baby boy, currently fighting for his life in Pittsburgh, PA. Aariz needs a liver transplant to combat a rare form of liver cancer called Hepatoblastoma.

The Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh is hopeful and ready to get Aariz the liver he needs within a relatively short period of time, pending some presurgical screening and clearance.

The stumbling block? Money! As an international patient with no insurance and a family with normal means, Aariz cannot pay $300,000-$335,000 in cash to get a shot at what we all take for granted, i.e. life. The policy of the Children's Hospital requires a deposit of $300,000+ before Aariz can qualify to receive treatment.

The family has thus far raised approximately $80,000, enabling them to at least get Aariz through the tests and interim treatment. However, his only real chance at survival is a liver transplant and for that, the family critically between $300,000-$335,000, as soon as possible, to make a deposit into the Children's Hospital account set up for Aariz.

Help Aariz
Gecko Insurance
The year after I graduated, WLHS planned to have faux commercials featured during their spring concert. Unfortunately the projector had techinical difficulties and the commercials never aired. One of those commercials was put together by Derek and friends, and I had the pleasure of producing it.

Five Steps to Make Your Home More Hurricane Resistant
Dr. Tim Reinhold, director of Engineering and vice president, Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) has identified five steps homeowners or their contractors can take to make homes more hurricane-resistant: (1) Shutter all openings, (2) Protect gable end vents, (3) Secure loose roof shingles, (4) Seal openings, cracks and holes, and (5) Strengthen doors. "If you do everything on this list, it could cost $4,000 or more but your home will be much stronger and safer," said Jeanne Salvatore, senior vice president and consumer spokesperson at the I.I.I. "On the other hand, if you don't make these improvements and you're hit with major damage, you could end up paying a sizable hurricane deductible before the insurance payment kicks in. In comparison, the $4,000 will seem like a bargain."

Trigun Episode 5 [2/3] Hard Puncher
No one really knows what the 60 billion dollar-wanted-man named Vash really looks like, only what damage he has been fabled to have caused. Due to over 300 insurance claims filed by the inhabitants of the cities Vash the Stampede has supposedly demolished, the FIA has sent two claims inspectors - Meryl Stryfe & Milly Thompson - to find Vash and investigate / fine him for all the damage he has caused. Now Vash must not only deal with merciless bounty hunters, but hounding insurance companies too in a setting very reminiscent of such American westerns as Bonanza or Gunsmoke.
