Cash On Demand (1961)

Petty tyrant bank manager Harry Fordyce (Peter Cushing) is visited at work by Colonel Gore-Hepburn (Andre Morell), an inspector from the bank's insurance agency.

Once alone, however, 'Gore-Hepburn' wastes no time in explaining he is actually a criminal who's associates have Fordyce's wife and child held hostage and will eloctrocute them if he refuses to go along with their plans for a large cash withdrawl....

Firstly, let me apologise for the appalling quality of this clip but it's the only copy of this ludicrously rare film I've been able to find.

This wonderful, suspenseful little film (based on the TV play THE GOLD INSIDE) really does deserve a DVD release. Many of Hammer's other early thrillers, featuring stars who have been all but forgotten, have been released so why not this one which features the star perhaps most associated with the studio? Answers on a postcard please (or e-mail, I'm not fussy).

BTW: I collect rare films & TV. If you're interested in exchanging material please contact me at mr.rose@ntlworld.com.
