AMERICA'S HEALTH INSURANCE PLANS RESPONDS TO MICHAEL MOORE'S SiCKO

Karen Ignagni, President and CEO of America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), speaks about Michael Moore's new film SiCKO, which makes its nationwide premiere on Friday, June 29th.

AHIP represents large and small health plans across the country, including the very companies Moore makes direct attacks on in his film. These health plans cover services and provide health insurance coverage for more than 200 million Americans.

"Washington and the states should take immediate action to ensure that every American has health care coverage. We need a uniquely American solution in which the public and private sectors work together to make sure that everyone has high-quality, affordable health care," said Ignagni. The American people do not support a government takeover of the entire health care system because they know that means long waits for rationed care."
