Floods submerge parts of UK

Hello on this Monday, the 23 day of July 2007. I'm Kristin Volk with a UPI Headline Update.

Britain is experiencing some of its worst flooding in nearly sixty years. The rising waters in the southern part of the country have made thousands homeless and submerged entire towns under water. Prime Minister Gordon Brown rejected criticism that his government had failed to anticipate the latest floods which came just weeks after heavy rain in northern England. Those rains killed a number of people and flooded several towns. Insurance estimate claims for flood damage between June and July could top nearly 4 billion pounds.

Japan has now agreed to work with the U.N. atomic watchdog in inspecting its earthquake-hit nuclear power plant. The country had reportedly rejected an offer from the International Atomic Energy Agency to inspect the plant. It was hit last week by a 6.8 magnitude earthquake. Energy officials say the information gathered at the plant will help secure safety at existing and future nuclear power facilities.

A new poll shows that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has more than double the support of her rival, Senator Barack Obama. Fifty-four percent say Clinton has the best chance of winning the 2008 presidential election while 22 percent believe Obama does. That's trailed by former Senator John Edwards.

South Korea is negotiating with Taliban militants for the release of 23 abducted South Koreans. Officials are hoping that negotiations would continue past tonight's deadline set by kidnappers to start killing them. The hostages were taken last week in the eastern part of Afghanistan when militants stopped the bus they were traveling in. They were reportedly there to offer medical assistance and other aid.

That's all for now. Thanks for watching and have a great day!

911 Truth Unusual Evacuations & Power-Downs in the WTC

911 Truth Unusual Evacuations & Power-Downs in the WTC
What is AIPAC? American Israeli Public affairs Committee controls the US Congress and Sends Americans to fight and die for Israel.

The US has the largest and most technologically powerful economy in the world, with a per capita GDP of $43,500. In this market-oriented economy, private individuals and business firms make most of the decisions, and the federal and state governments buy needed goods and services predominantly in the private marketplace. US business firms enjoy greater flexibility than their counterparts in Western Europe and Japan in decisions to expand capital plant, to lay off surplus workers, and to develop new products. At the same time, they face higher barriers to enter their rivals' home markets than foreign firms face entering US markets. US firms are at or near the forefront in technological advances, especially in computers and in medical, aerospace, and military equipment; their advantage has narrowed since the end of World War II. The onrush of technology largely explains the gradual development of a "two-tier labor market" in which those at the bottom lack the education and the professional/technical skills of those at the top and, more and more, fail to get comparable pay raises, health insurance coverage, and other benefits. Since 1975, practically all the gains in household income have gone to the top 20% of households. The response to the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001 showed the remarkable resilience of the economy. The war in March-April 2003 between a US-led coalition and Iraq, and the subsequent occupation of Iraq, required major shifts in national resources to the military. The rise in GDP in 2004-06 was undergirded by substantial gains in labor productivity. Hurricane Katrina caused extensive damage in the Gulf Coast region in August 2005, but had a small impact on overall GDP growth for the year. Soaring oil prices in 2005 and 2006 threatened inflation and unemployment, yet the economy continued to grow through year-end 2006. Imported oil accounts for about two-thirds of US consumption. Long-term problems include inadequate investment in economic infrastructure, rapidly rising medical and pension costs of an aging population, sizable trade and budget deficits, and stagnation of family income in the lower economic groups. The merchandise trade deficit reached a record $750 billion in 2006.

Zaio Corporation

Zaio is in the process of photographing and appraising each and every property in cities across the country. That means every house, commercial building, industrial and institutional structure is being photographed and appraised property-by-property and street-by-street. We call this historic event "Photographing America." The resulting database of images and valuations is called "GeoPic," and is a useful resource for real estate, mortgage and insurance industries. The photographs are also an effective aid to police, fire and ambulance dispatching. Zaio has developed proprietary software and systems to continuously maintain and update the database as properties change and redevelopment occurs. Each photo is individually framed to strict GeoPic standards and photos are generally taken during summer months when landscaping is in full color. The database grows over time as updates constantly improve upon prior releases.
