Speaker Nunez and Senator Perata on Health Care

California Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez (D-Los Angeles) and California Senate President pro Tem Don Perata (D-Oakland) announced on June 21, 2007 that their near-universal health care proposals, Assembly Bill 8 and Senate Bill 48 respectively, have been merged into a revised Assembly Bill 8. Following the announcement and an explanation of some changes to the language of the bills, the two fielded questions from the media. In this third of three segments of the two fielding press questions, they discuss ongoing budget negotiations and Governor Schwarzenegger's comments critical of Spanish-language media.
