I have seen it happen to other people: being financially ruined by a bad tooth they can't afford to get fixed. We were working and fairly poor but we still paid over $400 per month for health care insurance. We would GLADLY pay that amount in taxes in order for EVERYONE to be covered and not have to worry about being one illness or accident away from complete financial ruin
